Mr Rakeshwar Lall, State President and all members of Hindu Rashtra Shakti have deeply mourned the untimely demises of Mr Shyam Murthy, R/o Brichgunj, Forest Department at 1655 hrs on 17.04.2023 at GB Pant hospital, Port Blair.

Communist Party of India (Marxist), Andaman & Nicobar State Organising Committee condole the demise of Shri Jappu P. John, Wharf Superintendent of Port Management Board and resident of Garacharma today (17.04.2023) at 10.00 a.m. at PHC, Garacharma. He was 59 years and left behind his wife and two sons.  Funeral procession will begin from his residence at Garacharma (Opposite Maruti Workshop) at 10 a.m. on 18th April, 2023.  CPI (M) conveys its heartfelt condolence to the family members of late Jappu P John.      

Port Blair, April 17: The Annual Conference of the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association, Andaman and Nicobar Islands was held at Atul Smriti Samity Hall, Port Blair on 16.04.2023. Shri M.S.Vengatesan, President, Income Tax Employees’ Federation, CHq., New Delhi inaugurated the Conference. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Vengatesan criticized the present government’s retrograde policy to privatise all the government establishment while lakhs of posts in government departments are not being filled due to which the youths are unable to get jobs timely. He discussed in detail about the Confederations fight for various genuine demands of government employees including repealing of NPS and introduction of Old Pension Scheme. He informed that Confederation is going to intensify their struggle for the Introduction of Old Pension Scheme for all the govt. employees throughout the country. He urged all the employees under NPS to remain united in the fight for scrapping the NPS and introduction of Old Pension Scheme.

It is informed to the general public that a minor boy namely Basheer Taufiq S/o Shri Basheer (17yrs), student R/o Garacharma, Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands is missing since 06/04/2023 from his grandfather’s residence at Garacharma, Port Blair. In this regard, an FIR has been registered at PS Pahargaon. The details of the missing minor boy are given below:

Port Blair, April 17: The Vessel MV Campbell Bay which sailed from Kolkata is expected to arrive at Mayabunder on April 18 at 1300 Hrs and at Port Blair on the same day at 2000 Hrs. She has on board about 122 passengers and 5 infants. On arrival at Port Blair, the vessel will be berthed at Haddo Wharf and passengers will be disembarked immediately.
